Kids get to explore technology behind travel

The Science Museum of Virginia has an interactive exhibition that explores the technology behind travel called “Going Places.”

Kids will get to climb aboard a flight simulator to fly a plane, ride on a hovercraft, pack a cargo ship without capsizing it, try sailing a land yacht across heavy winds, and more.

“Guests will observe, understand and use an incredible range of travel technology to see how it makes our lives easier and better, and learn how the Earth’s awesome size and natural processes, like gravity, wind, currents, waves, friction, and changing landscapes are overcome by the ingenious designs, researched and developed over time,” said officials with the Science Museum of Virginia.

“Going Places” features 17 exhibits and eight information kiosks and will be at the Science Museum of Virginia from Feb. 16 to Aug. 19.
