Exhibits on Curious George, Pompeii coming to Science Museum in 2019

Science Museum new exhibits coming to the Science Museum of Virginia in 2019 – Curious George and Pompeii.

Curious George: Let’s Get Curious” will be on display from Jan. 19 to Sept. 15 and features interactive displays modeled after the books and PBS series.

The exhibit is designed to facilitate discovery for children and families to learn together as George does.

Pompeii: The Immortal City” will be making its North American debut in Richmond and will be on display from June 8 to Sept. 3.

The exhibit was first shown in Brussels, Belgium, in 2017, and chronicles the eruption of Mount Vesuvius that destroyed the city in 79 A.D.

The exhibit features more than 100 items found during archaeological excavations of the site.

Additional events related to the exhibits will be held during their run at the museum.

“Curious George: Let’s Get Curious” is free with regular museum admission. “Pompeii: The Immortal City” will have an additional fee.
