Parade of Lights event gets canceled once again due to weather

Parade of Lights

Last year, the 25th annual James River Parade of Lights was canceled due to the weather and was rescheduled for July 21, but the weather has once again caused a cancellation.

Christmas in July” was set to begin Saturday evening, but has been canceled altogether due to rainy weather and concern for boater safety. The reschedule date was set for Sunday, but officials have also canceled that date due to more expected rain.

Boats were to parade down the James from Richmond to the Varina-Enon Bridge.

Details on the 2019 Parade of Lights have yet to be determined.
