Its time for outdoor Richmond Spring festivals to pop up almost every weekend through June.

Southern Food Festival
Grab your rolling pins, dust off the old family cookbooks, and call up your Great Aunt Sally for her secret ingredient list for incredible food vendors, live music and fun. FREE to attend and outdoor biergarten is pet friendly for friendly pets on leashes.
Church Hill Irish Festival
March 23 – 24
In addition to great entertainment, there will be plenty of family fun, including children’s games, face painting and Irish-themed crafts. Over thirty Irish vendors will be in attendance! Food and refreshments will also be available. This event is free to attend.
French Film Festival
March 28 – 31
VCU and University of Richmond present the 27th French Film Festival at the Byrd Theatre in Richmond. The festival promotes French language, cinema, and culture in the U.S. and in American educational institutions and create professional & academic partnerships focused on French film cultures. Tickets required.
Richmond Cherry Blossom Festival
Bring your family and friends as the cherry blossom trees start to bloom and take over VCU with vivid bursts of white and pink. Enjoy traditional and modern Japanese festivities, performances, music, Japanese food, games, and crafts! This event is free to attend.
Easter on Parade
Easter on Parade is a unique, family friendly event that has become an institution and a beloved part of Richmond’s Easter Sunday for more than 30 years. Produced in the heart of Spring on tree-lined Monument Avenue, Easter on Parade draws attendees from all over the Richmond Region.
Earth Day Festival
Get ready for a day of kayak rides on the James, performances, guided bike rides along the Virginia Capital Trail, a bouldering wall, non-profit exhibitors, a hip hop dance class for families, a craft market, and much more! The event is free and open to the public. Food and beverages will be available for purchase.
RVA International Film & Music Festival
April 23 – 28
More than 150 films from over 35 countries to be screened over seven days plus 50 Local, National and International Music Showcases to perform. This inclusive and spirited festival designed to honor true film artists; RIFF provides a collaborative platform between local filmmakers and other filmmakers from around the world. Tickets required.
French Food Festival
April 26 – 27
Enjoy a weekend of French culture, food, music, and wine, all for a wonderful cause. The festival serves as a fundraiser for the Little Sisters of the Poor, a local non-profit serving Virginia’s elderly poor. This event is free but donations accepted.
Powhatan’s Festival of Fiber
To celebrate and to share appreciation of the many fiber animals, fiber farmers and fiber artisans of the county and surrounding region. Vendors, Delicious Food, Fiber Animals, Demonstrations, Hands-On Fiber Crafts, Door Prizes and MORE! No pets allowed.
Maymont Beer & Wine Classic
Raise a glass to celebrate Maymont’s annual Beer & Wine Classic, hosted by the Dooley Noted Society! Enjoy live music, food trucks, lawn games and more while sampling some of Virginia’s finest beverages from dozens of local breweries, cideries and wineries.
Arts in the Park
May 3 – 5
More than 450 artists from around the U.S. will gather in Byrd Park to display everything from fine art of classic and contemporary paintings, to photography, pottery, jewelry and home and garden accessories. Arts in the Park is recognized as one of the top art shows in the country and is an event people around the entire state of Virginia look forward to each year.
¿Qué Pasa? Festival of Virginia
Celebrate the food, music, and art of Virginia’s Latin American communities for this one-day festival. “Festies” come from all over the state to celebrate and interactively learn more about Virginia’s growing and thriving Hispanic communities through regional Latin music, food, dancing and artisan-ship.
Peace Love RVA Yoga Festival
This festival is for yoga enthusiasts and newcomers, whether local or visiting from out of town! Music, vegetarian food, local merchants, and classes led by some of Richmond’s finest yoga instructors all jammed packed into one eventful day. Tickets required this year. Children are free.
Henrockus At Henricus: Bands & Brews on the James River Bluff
Bring your lawn chairs, enjoy a brew (or two!) and wine, rock out to local bands, and enjoy the outstanding views of the mighty James River – all while supporting educational programming at Henricus Historical Park.
Dominion Energy River Rock
May 17 – 19
The nation’s premier outdoor sports and music festival. From music to mud pits, bikes to beer, SUPs to pups, and climbing to kayaks – it’s uniquely RVA! Rock the day and night away, watch professional athletes thrill the crowd, and maybe even get a little dirty yourself.
44th Annual Richmond Greek Festival
May 30 – June 2
Experience one of Richmond’s oldest and best outdoor cultural festivals with legendary food, amazing dance troupes, and music from all the regions of Greece. Browse through the beautiful art, jewelry and amazing finds in the International Bazaar.
Get ready for a day featuring the best local restaurants our fine city has to offer – and all at $3 a plate! Bring your appetite and cash and plan on grazing your way down Broad Street. There will be plenty of Virginia wines and beers to wash down the delicious offerings with, as well as great vendors to visit and music to please your ears.
