RVA East End Festival
June 8 – 9
The RVA East End Festival kicks off their 4th year and this year they are back at Chimborazo Park and taking part in the Big Tent Community Festival program of the Richmond Symphony. This FREE two-day event celebrates music, dance, arts, food and fun, all while raising funds for music education in East End public schools.
15th Annual Stone Soul and Music Festival
The 15th annual Stone Soul Music and Food Festival is coming to Virginia Credit Union LIVE! at Richmond Raceway, Saturday, June 8th for a day of family fun and entertainment. This year will feature 2 stages for Inspirational, R&B and Hip Hop music from national and local recording artists as well as delicious eats & treats from local food and retail vendors!
Ashland Strawberry Faire
Ashland Strawberry Faire is a FREE festival with great entertainment and kids activities; plus handcrafted crafts, local business, and foods on sale. The Faire is held June on the streets around Randolph-Macon College. Strawberries, food, entertainment, arts, crafts, and local business vendors make for a fantastic day! Free parking and free shuttle service.
Powhatan Music Festival
Experience the Powhatan Music Festival with multiple genres of music to suit all tastes and listening styles with everything from classic rock, Chicago blues, Americana and bluegrass. Plenty of local breweries, distilleries, wineries and food vendors will be on site.
Rocketts Red Glare
Rocketts Red Glare is returning for a two-day festival of volleyball and fireworks July 3-4 at Rocketts Landing in Richmond. The event is free and features vendors, food trucks, craft beer and the Sand in the City Pro-Beach Volleyball Tournament.
Innsbrook Taste of Virginia
Celebrating all things Virginia, Innsbrook Taste of Virginia, presented by Capital Ale House, will be showcasing delicious dishes from local restaurants, each competing for the honorary “Taste of Virginia” title. Enjoy live music and entertainment throughout the day and take part in the finale fireworks show that night!
Hanover Tomato Festival
July 12 – 13
Enjoy delicious Hanover Tomato cuisine, over 150 artisan and local business vendors, live musical entertainment, a MaterFUN play area for children featuring face painting, inflatables, rides and the Best Dressed Tomato Contest. This festival is a free outdoor, family and pet friendly event.
Smoke and Vine Festival
The Smoke and Vine Festival is back and it’s revived at James River Cellars Winery with more wine and cigar options! This year’s theme is ALL WHITE which is desired but not required. Celebrate community, family and friends. Sponsored by Johnson’s Charities – a portion of the proceeds benefit children with disabilities and special needs.
Sweet Corn and Watermelon Festival
Head to Gallmeyer Farms for the 7th Annual Sweet Corn and Watermelon Festival. Enjoy fresh Gallmeyer Farms sweet corn, homegrown veggies, free kids activities, local vendors, food and live music. Admission and parking are free but pets are asked to stay home.
Chesapeake Crab, Wine & Beer Festival
This is the 1st Annual Virginia Crab Extravaganza! The Festival is an ALL-YOU-CARE-TO-TASTE event complete with over 30,000 crabs, lots of beer, arts & crafts, live music, family fun and so much more! VA Distillery joins the fun offering tastings of our Virginia-Highland Whisky series.
Dragon Boat Festival
Regarded as the liveliest festival stop on the MLDB circuit, Richmond is always a high-energy whirlwind of community rivalry mixed with team spirit. Embraced by local community teams, many festival attendees get creative with colorful uniforms, memorable costumes and zany tent displays in the Athletes’ Village.
Richmond Jazz Festival
August 8 – 11
From jazz giants to R&B and pop legends to funk royalty to retro-futuristic virtuosas, this year’s Grammy-laden lineup is one for the books. Besides the music, the festival also features complimentary wine tastings, artist meet-and-greets, chef exhibitions and dozens of food and merchandise vendors.
August 9 – 10
Now in its fourteenth year, the Filipino Festival is a community event which showcases the richness of the Filipino culture and promotes a respect for and appreciation of the Filipino heritage. Featuring a delectable cuisine, folk dances and music, the Filipino Festival has attracted thousands of attendees from Richmond and surrounding cities and counties.
Carytown Watermelon Festival
The Carytown Watermelon Festival is an experience no one should miss! At the peak of summer in Richmond the masses come out to enjoy fresh cut watermelon, local shops, street vendors, performances, music and company of nearly the entire community.
29th Annual Down Home Family Reunion
Down Home Family Reunion, A Celebration of African American Folk-life, is a downtown weekend festival that celebrates African American folk-life with world music and dance, the Heritage Market, special children’s events, interactive site demonstrations and delicious down-home food.
World Heritage Festival
The World Heritage Festival series is expanding coming for the first time to Richmond. There are several food vendors who will showcase ethic food, fresh smoothies and traditional beverages. Enjoy cultural performances, an array of vendors, artists, a kids zone and much more!
