Happy 4th of July!
Independence Day, other wise known as the 4th of July falls on a Thursday this year.
The Fourth of July is more than just fireworks and barbecues. It’s a day celebrating the anniversary of our national independence. Patriotic displays and family events are organized throughout the United States.
Right here in Richmond there are plenty of options to see fireworks and celebrate!
Kings Dominion | July 1 - 7
Kings Dominion is celebrating the final week of Grand Carnivale and Independence Day with free military admission and fireworks each night July 1 – July 7. In honor of Independence day Kings Dominion is offering an additional extended fireworks display at 10 p.m. on July 4. All active and retired military personnel as well as veterans with honorable or medical discharge can receive two free park admission tickets July 1 – July 7.
Dogwood Dell | July 4 | 6:30 p.m.
Free, family friendly day filled with music and fireworks! Pack a picnic and get there early for prime seating.
Chesterfield County Fair Grounds | July 4 | 5 p.m.
Activity area for children, food vendors and special entertainment. Gates open at 5 p.m. and the fireworks begin at dark. Bring a blanket or lawn chairs and enjoy a night that’s fun for everyone!
Fourth at the Fort Lee | July 4 | 5 p.m. - 10 p.m.
Celebrate your independence at Fort Lee’s annual Fourth at the Fort celebration!
The event begins at 5 p.m. at Williams Stadium on Fort Lee, with music, food, and the KidZone!
This event is FREE and open to the public!
Libbie Mill Midtown
Join in for a spectacular fireworks display over the lake! The family-friendly fun gets underway at 6pm at 2100 Libbie Lake East Street, adjacent to the Libbie Mill Library, with live music from “The Mashup”, a variety of food trucks, kids activities including stilt-walkers, inflatables, face-painting and more.
