Tang and Biscuit adds another entertainment option to Scott’s Addition

Owners say this 18,000 square foot venue is actually the world’s largest indoor shuffleboard club designed for fun.

Tang and Biscuit is bringing something new to Richmond. It’s the city’s first and only shuffleboard restaurant.

“A place where people young, old diverse crowds can come together and really enjoy,” owner David Gallagher said. “One game that’s kind of easy to do, it’s fun most people haven’t done it but find it really enjoyable.”

Owners say this 18,000 square foot venue is actually the world’s largest indoor shuffleboard club designed for fun.

“We got all kinds of games options from janga to ping pong tables to foosball, all the way up to our signature game, which is the floor shuffleboard court,” Gallagher said.

The venue’s name comes from the equipment used to play the game of shuffleboard. A tang is the cue stick used to push your disc, known as a biscuit, down the court. Tang & Biscuit will have staff on hand to teach guests how to play the game.

So how does this game work?

“Basically, you take the tang, which is the stick, and you push the biscuit, which is the puck, and the goal is to try and score points by landing on the other side of the court and score either a 10, 8, or 7,” Gallagher said.

Sounds simple, right? Well it is after you get the hang of it.

Along with the games, Tang and Biscuit also has a food, beer, wine and cocktails menu that will be serving up special Tang-inspired drinks.

“It’s a biscuit-inspired menu with all kinds of open face biscuit options as well as a tater tot menu,” said Gallagher. “As well as a good salad for our health friends.“
