Calling All Walking Dead Fans!

If you’re a fan of the series, then we have some exciting news for you!

The third series in The Walking Dead universe will be filming 10 episodes this summer in Virginia and premiere on AMC in 2019!

“On the heels of an incredible ninth season of The Walking Dead and as we approach an anticipated new season of Fear the Walking Dead on June 2, this is an exciting moment for the Dead franchise, which continues to thrive in a highly competitive environment,” said Sarah Barnett, president of the entertainment networks group for AMC Networks, in a release. “We are thankful to be working with some of the best creatives in the business to expand this Universe in new and exciting ways for our fans.”

The third part of the series will follow two female protagonists and focus on the first generation to come-of-age in the apocalypse.

“Some will become heroes. Some will become villains. In the end, all of them will be changed forever. Grown-up and cemented in their identities, both good and bad,” AMC said in a release.

This is the second AMC series to film in Virginia, following the Revolutionary War series, TURN: Washington’s Spies.

“We are delighted to welcome AMC back to Virginia,” said Governor Ralph Northam. “The series will provide high-paying jobs for our skilled workers and will invite economic opportunity for Virginia businesses large and small. Uniquely, the series also brings with it a devoted global fan-base, creating immeasurable added value for the Commonwealth as the franchise’s powerful spotlight shines on Virginia.”
