Virginia Opera takes on Mozart’s ‘Don Giovanni’

Don Giovanni incorporates comedy, melodrama and supernatural elements into one.

Experience one of the top 10 operas in the world when the Virginia Opera takes on Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart’s Don Giovanni.

The opera tells the story of Don Giovanni, who is described as “a licentious nobleman who outrages all who encounter him as his fate awaits.”

The show will be Lillian Groag’s 24th production for Virginia Opera, and will feature baritone Tobias Greenhalgh as Don Giovanni, bass-baritone Zachary Altman as Leporello and soprano Rachelle Durkin as Donna Anna.

All music for the production is provided by the Virginia Symphony Orchestra.

Performances will take place on Nov. 16, 8 p.m. and Nov. 18, 2:30 p.m. at the Dominion Energy Center.
